Andy is an IT professional, and has previously worked with and supported children, young people and adults with their wellbeing and educational needs. This has included neurodivergent individuals and those not engaged with the educational system.
With his wife, Gaynor, he helped set up Behind the Smile to support those with poor mental health and those affected by suicide after their youngest son ended his life.
Andy has completed a Grief Recovery course run by Sunflowers and is an Orange Button holder following completion of Worcestershire County Council Suicide Prevention training.
Andy feels passionately that everyone should have access to timely appropriate physical and mental health support and intervention to meet their needs, especially where an individual is at risk of taking their own life.
He loves being outdoors with walking, running, gardening, or hugging a tree. Quizzing is a passion, and he often has his head buried in a Sudoku puzzle, in recent years he has discovered a love for writing poetry.
